Dan - how was you event in LA over the weekend - hope it went well.

For all you other people that are reading this - imagine 108 Million people what are teachers of peace, waking the planet and spreading peace in all they do. Hold that thought :-)

As the founder of the not-for-profit Visions for Prisons, contributor of 3 short stories in ‘Chicken Soup for the Prisoners Soul’ and one story in ‘Serving Time-Serving Others’, author of ‘The Mudra of Light’ and ‘The One Minute Miracle’, Dan Millstein has taught yoga and meditation for more than twenty years both inside and outside of prisons around the globe. He has facilitated more than one thousand Attitudinal Healing support groups in refugee camps, prisons and communities supporting people with life threatening illnesses.

It was before a visit to a juvenile prison in Brazil where he and his volunteer coordinator from Sao Paulo attempted to come up with something they could give to these young prisoners, most of whom could not read or write, and did not have a tooth brush among them, that the 'One Minute Miracle' was born.

Using 12 simple hand gestures and affirmations, and after only a few repetitions, the kids seemed to “get it” and responded with great joy and lightness which was not present in this dark and filthy place before. Dan continued traveling and taught the simple ceremony to his adult groups in prisons and wellness centers until open-heart surgery took him off the “traveling guru circuit” as he called it.

So many people responded just like “the Sao Paulo kids” Dan compiled a “how-to book” so more people could understand the power of The One Minute Miracle daily ritual to bring peace to their lives. “Repitition is the key to my own learning and that is what mantras are all about.”, said Millstein, “I think?” he added with a twinkle in his eye.

Dan’s current project is to gather '108 Million Teachers of Peace' around the world and agree to One-Day-Of-Peace, on December 21, 2012, “just to see what happens!?”

“Lets stop marching against war and teach peace by giving up our attack thoughts.”, says Dan sitting on a rock in his Zen garden in California.
